Isabel Dutilh founded Argali in November 2015 after having developed her professional career at Dutilh Abogados, a firm she founded in 1988, positioning it as one of the leading national firms in the business law market.
She is specialized in commercial law, corporate law, and M&A. She has participated in numerous M&A transactions, reorganisations, Private Equity and Venture Capital, covering all types of sectors. She has advised funds operating in the venture capital sector and has been involved in some of the most relevant mid-market transactions in Spain in recent years.
She also has extensive experience in corporate advisory, where she is a recognised expert, and has participated in numerous sale and purchase transactions, as well as in corporate reorganisations of groups, drafting and modification of family protocols, and investment agreements. She is also secretary of the board of directors of several companies.
In addition to her commercial experience, she has experience in litigation practice throughout her career, which is currently focused solely on arbitration, both as arbitrator and as counsel in arbitrations, in matters related to corporate problems, and in disputes arising in connection with mergers and acquisitions. This experience gives her a broader view of the problems that may arise in a transaction and allows her to accompany the client in the event that divergences arise in the execution of the transaction agreements.
International legal directories such as Chambers&Partners or Best Lawyers have named her as a leading lawyer in Corporate/M&A practices.
In addition, her business acumen allows her to understand the clients’ situation and their needs, which is atypical for a traditional lawyer. She has acquired this first-hand knowledge by having led a build-up process of law firms as managing partner, forming a multidisciplinary business law firm, Dutilh Abogados, which grew to more than 100 people, with offices in Madrid and Barcelona.
Her knowledge of the business world has been enriched by her work as an independent director of Elecnor, S.A. and Millenium Hotels Real State Socimi, S.A. and her participation in the audit and appointments committees of both companies, as well as her membership of the Círculo de Empresarios, of which she has been a member of the board of directors and vice-president in two successive terms.
